True Colors, for you who got stuck in the mud and are having trouble getting out...

Ane burn has a song called "true colors" by which i stumbled upon awhile ago when responding to a regular E-Shout by a music blog called "Daytrotter" (I highly recommend it).

Anyway. I was taking a late night ride on my bike(which lately, i have become quite fond of)
And of course, i had music playing, and like most times i ride late at night, I tend to listen closer to music. i guess there's less distractions and its going directly to your ears as opposed to the competing sounds of everyday life. This song just struck me. Right on my head.

here are the lyrics:

You with the sad eyes/ Don't be discouraged/ Oh i realize/ It's hard to take courage/ In a world full of people/ You can lose sight of it all/ And the darkness inside you/ Can make you feel so small/

But i see your true colors/ Shining through I see your true colors/ And that's why i love you/ So don't be afraid to let them show/ Your true colors/ True colors are beautiful,/ Like a rainbow

Show me a smile then,/ Don't be unhappy, can't remember/ When i last saw you laughing/ If this world makes you crazy/ And you've taken all you can bear/ You call me up/ Because you know i'll be there

And i'll see your true colors/ Shining through/ I see your true colors/ And that's why i love you/ So don't be afraid to let them show/ Your true colors/ True colors are beautiful,/ Like a rainbow

How often do we become Like the person being addressed in this song?

Discouraged, degraded, hurt and worthless feeling.

it is the devils work to keep us aware of our transgressions and to make us feel like we have no control of ourselves. Though we do have a sin nature that, well, is our nature causing us to act as subjects to the things of this world, The Holy Fathers Work is to help us persevere through the warfare taking place within us in another realm. Do not forget that as Christians(and only as Christians, if you are not a Christian you must become one) we have been set apart and have been transformed to be subjects of Christ! Children of God at that! We are his workmanship!

And as his workmanship, theres no Hiding From God. Theres also no misjudgment of character because of past transgressions.

Often times we are afraid to just let people know who we are. One because they dont know us and two because, as humans, we tend to misunderstand and misjudge. But with God, We cant hide from him. He knows us inside and out. consider this,

A quite popular Psalm but non-the-less truthful and wonderful;

an excerpt of Psalm 139:1-12,

"1O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.

2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.

5 You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths,
you are there.

9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"

12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you."

Remember this. When Satan reminds you that you suck and that we can never do anything good. (which is good to accept) remember that we can overcome the ways of this world by seeking God for guidance and perseverance. How do we seek God?

This is not Hard!

His word. and Prayer. and fellowship. its as simple as that.

But remember that one without the other two or two without one is going to be really hard. How can you talk to someone you know nothing about and try to have a deep conversation? In the same sense, we can get so caught up in the Bible that it is just useless information because we arnt connected to the Father. In fact we can so easily misguide people because we read without the insight of God. And finally it is always better to fellowship with someone else. God never meant for us to "go it alone." that would be a terribly lonely journey and quite hard on us. Again God didnt make us to shut people out all together but rather to connect with people.

From a Sheep who really likes it when God reveals things to him at strange times of the day(like last night while listening to music and riding my bike),

Scottry~

Ps. Theres something really weird about Blogger's formating. like the overly large spaces between some lines randomly... haha. soo yeah.
